“Mooching”

Wind Knot Guides normal fishes using the Mooching technique…Engines off light tackle in hand. Mooching consists of a rod, reel, 2-5 oz banana sinker and a cut plug herring as bait. Learning curve of the technique is very forgiving making it an exciting way to fish for both the expert and novice angler. Feel the hook up and fight the fish without the downrigger and flasher! This is active fishing. If you are not interested in holding the rod and actively dropping line/reeling most of the day, Captain Dave can troll using Scotty down riggers. Trolling is a good option during September, but we prefer to “mooch” most other months.

Duxbury is a premium Grady White Fisherman 236 with a wide beam providing great stability. The 300hp Yamaha 4 stroke engine is reliable and powerful to get you on the salmon quickly!
